Mahindra Scorpio N Global NCAP Safety Rating: HECT
Some time ago, Scorpio N has been launched in the market in a completely new avatar, for which a long waiting period is being given to the customers. Its demand is already strong and now this SUV has done another feat. Recently, Global NCAP has done a crash test of the new Mahindra Scorpio N, in which this SUV has managed to achieve a full 5-star safety rating. Under the overall 5-star rating for safety, the SUV scored 29.25 out of 34 for adult occupants and 28.93 out of 49 for child occupant protection. It has got a 3-star rating in terms of child safety.
New Scorpio's competition is fierce
Mahindra has called the new Scorpio N as an urban SUV which has been completely redesigned and everything new has been given with it. The exterior and interior of the new generation model are completely new as compared to the current model. If we look at the competition, it will compete with cars like Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Alcazar in the Indian market.
Bigger than Scorpio Classic
Comparing Mahindra Scorpio N with Scorpio Classic, it has been launched in the market with 206 mm longer, 97 mm wider and 70 mm more wheelbase. Exterior changes like 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, LED projector headlamps, LED taillamps, electric ORVMs and shark fin antenna have been given with the new generation. This SUV has been introduced in 7 colors - Deep Forest, Dazzling Silver, Royal Gold, Napoli Black, Everest White, Red Rage and Grand Canon.
What was found in the cabin?
The increased wheelbase has made the cabin of the new Scorpio N more spacious than before and Mahindra has made it premium. Here the 3D surround sound system with 12 speakers Sony system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 20.32-inch infotainment screen, widest sunroof in the segment, leatherette seats and more than 70 connected car features are given in the SUV's cabin. Temperature control can be done here through Adrenox, apart from this it is claimed that this is the world's first SUV which has been given What Words navigation system which works on voice command.
How powerful is the engine?
The Amstelian petrol engine has been given with the new Scorpio N which makes 200 PS power and 380 Nm peak torque. The M-hawk diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 175 PS of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. This new SUV has emerged as the least polluting car in the segment. The company has equipped both these engines with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options. Along with this, for the first time in the segment, shift by cable technology has also been used in this SUV.
The new SUV is strong in safety?
Mahindra Scorpio N gets 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control system, hill hold control, brake disc wiping, electronic brake prefill, e-call, SOS switch and roll over mitigation and many more safety features. Huh. Apart from this, the new SUV has come with several driving modes which include Tarmac, Snow, Mud and Desert. The new car has also been given the 4Xplore Terrain Management System.
