As of now, the price of Mahindra Thar starts at Rs. 13.58 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 16.28 Lakh. Due to which many customers like Mahindra Thar but are unable to buy it due to the expensive price. In such a situation, the company has brought a special update for the people, the company is about to launch a cheaper version of the Mahindra Thar SUV. Recently some pictures of this new model of Thar have gone viral.

The pictures surfaced show that the 4 wheel drive lever was not given in the Mahindra Thar. That is, it will be a 2 wheel drive) version of this SUV. So in the case of the same engine, the new Thar is expected to get a 15-liter diesel engine. The Thar 2 wheel drive version has now started arriving at Mahindra's dealership yards, confirming that this Thar is going to hit the market soon.
The upcoming affordable Thar will not feature a four-wheel drive system. It is rear-wheel drive only. It will get the 115-litre diesel engine, which is also found in the XU300. This engine produces 116 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque output. It will be lower than the 4WD version in terms of power.
Thar 2WD will be the new entry level variant of this SUV. The less powerful engine and absence of a four-wheel drive system could result in it being priced quite aggressively. Mahindra has added a start/stop function and a lock/unlock button to the center console of the Thar 2WD. Rest of the features are expected to remain the same.
